CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION

SSSN Bowen 2021 aims to discuss the importance of soils. In the 2021 edition, the focus will be on “Understanding Soil Organic Matter Dynamics: Key to Sustainable Ecosystem Health.”

To do this we will adopt a new style of conference, with traditional conference talks in the mornings, followed by a range of scientific and interactive topic masterclasses in the afternoons (at no extra fee, the fee is included in conference fee).

1, Professor Uche Amalu is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, University of Calabar, Nigeria, and Professor of Soil Science and Sustainable Agriculture.
2, Prof. Joshua O. Ogunwole is Vice-Chancellor, Bowen University, Iwo, Nigeria and a Professor of Applied Soil Physics &Environmental sciences.
3, Prof. Bala Abdullahi is a Nigerian academic, author, and professor of soil science. He is the current and seventh substantive vice-chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, a post he assumed in December 2017.
4, Prof. Rattan Lal is an Indian soil scientist. His work focuses on the potential of soils to help resolve global issues such as climate change, food security, and water quality.
5, Prof. Jubrin Jubrin, Professor of Soil Science at Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria.

About The Conference Venue

Bowen University is a private Baptist Christian Nigerian university owned and operated by the Nigerian Baptist Convention. Bowen University is located at Iwo in Osun State, Nigeria, and is housed in the old 1,300-acre campus of the Baptist College, a teacher-training institution on a hill just outside the city.
